Day Venue, Shaping the Future Day: Kraftwerk

Selnaustrasse 25, Zürich
8001 Zürich

Built in 1898 as an electric transformer station for local power utility EWZ, Kraftwerk is a unique space fueling innovation and collaboration at the heart of Zurich downtown, in walking distance from the city’s main station.

After decommission, the beautiful heritage-protected building found a new life in 2017, thanks to a cross-corporate partnership between EWZ, the industry-association digitalswitzerland as well as the local offshoot of the global entrepreneurial community Impact Hub, financially supported by the Pioneer Fund from Engagement Migros, the national retailer.

Today, Kraftwerk provides multi-purpose working and gathering spaces enabling new and efficient partnerships between varied stakeholders to drive innovative and sustainable solutions for the challenges of tomorrow.

Thanks to its meaningful legacy and inspiring purpose, Kraftwerk is the ideal venue for this year’s Shaping the Future Day focussing on «the Power of Communities».

Evening Venue, Restaurant Riithalle

Gessnerallee 8, Zürich
8001 Zürich

For the social event in the evening, we will transfer from Kraftwerk Selnau to Gessnerallee – a short walk along the Schanzengraben canal, formerly a component of the city’s fortification moats.

Housed in the old stables for military horses that formed part of an extensive armed forces base at the outside of Zurich’s historic centre, Gessnerallee is a performing arts centre, launched in the 1990s after a number of popular votes affirmed the ownership and usage rights for the beautiful heritage buildings.

The rustic indoor spaces and the lush garden facing the Schanzengraben Promenade make for an excellent backdrop to enjoy each other’s company at the conclusion of the Shaping the Future Day 2022.
